well no cause i had sewed in weaves for two years and my hair grew alot it all depends on who does it and how your hair grows.
but their really good cause you dont have all that glue in hair and they last longer.

hay what about white girls? i wear a weave in my hair with 2 rows of hair extensions, and it ruins my hair because it stops it from growing. so yeah it does damage you hair!

I'm not black...BUT No it does not ruin your hair. You're hair is braided underneath the track anyway. If you get it glued then obviously it damages your hair. I think getting it sewn isn't bad either - you're own hair grows underneath it and atleast you aren't using product and heat on your own hair.

No certainly not. As long as the person doing it is educated about hair weave and you take care of your own hair in the process. This includes washing it and conditioning it with the sew-in still in your head. As long as you are washing your hair, and are cautious when taking your hair down, it's actually a great way to grow your hair. Your hair is braided and not being submitted to harsh chemicals, treatments, extreme heat of the flat iron or hot comb, etc. Which gives your hair a chance to grow without breaking off. I love sew-ins, lol. I'm about to cut my hair and get one this coming weekend.
Also, a weave with glue doesn't damage your hair if worn properly. I do weaves for a lot of my friends and it's growing their hair not taking it out. One just must be educated about how to properly take a weave with glue out so that their hair isn't pulled out with it.
